Movement check Bayreuth
The project Bayreuth movement check represents a campaign for the sustainable promotion of physical activity, health, sports and talent. Based on the Fulda movement check, the project was carried out for the first time in June 2019 in cooperation with the city of Bayreuth and the district. Approximately 1000 children from 19 elementary schools in the city of Bayreuth and the surrounding area were successfully tested for their sports motor skills. Among other things, the generally recognized German motor skills test was used as a test procedure, in which the values achieved by the children are compared with nationwide reference values.
The aim of the Bayreuth movement check is to provide a comprehensive overview of the movement abilities of the participating children on a scientific basis, to identify movement weaknesses at an early stage, to improve them and to discover talents. Individual sport motor strengths and weaknesses are to be identified as such and a suitable sport recommendation determined. Personal promotion counseling is then built on the results of the study. By promoting physical activity in the follow-up, the inactivity of children and adolescents is counteracted in a preventive manner and an attempt is made to incorporate sporting activity into the everyday lives of elementary school students.
In order to introduce the Bayreuth movement check throughout the region, the goal will continue to be pursued in the coming years to work together with the regional elementary schools and give the children a sporty future.
“We move Bayreuth – for a healthy and sporty future”.
